Alcohol & Substance Misuse Policy

C4F CIC believes that children have the right to love safely and without fear of abuse. We recognise that alcohol  and substance misuse is unacceptable at the contact session. Its effects are far reaching and can impact on others, notably the children.

  • We are aware that some service users regularly use alcohol and illegal drugs and we are mindful of the negative impact that such behaviour can have on the parenting in which they provide.

  • We are also aware that when service users are trying to address their own substance misuse issue, it is helpful to be in close proximity to others who are still using.

  • C4F CIC does not permit entry to the centre to anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol . This is in accordance with the rules of the contact centre.

  • If after entry their behaviour suggests they are under the influence , they will be asked to leave the building immediately.

  • If a service user breaks the Rules of contact , the contact will be suspended, pending an emergency review.

  • Service users that smoke, are only allowed to do so outside of the centre and their grounds.

  • A staff member arriving for work seemingly under the influence of drugs/ alcohol will be asked to leave. The issue will be reported to senior management and disciplinary procedures will be implemented.
